OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard 1912.120 requires that a site safety plan be prepared and reviewed by qualified personnel for each hazardous substance response. The more complete and comprehensive a plan is BEFORE an incident occurs, the more effective it will be as an incident unfolds. This program trains employees on what is needed in the plan, how to develop the plan, and how to make sure workers are familiar with the plan before they respond to any incident. It also discusses the importance of review and updating the plans to make sure they stay current.
